India’s biggest online retail firm Flipkart plans to hold its annual flagship "The Big Billion Days" sale from 20th to 24th September this year. This will be the fourth edition of Flipkart’s The Big Billion Days sale, which was first launched by the e-commerce firm in October 2014. 

With this sale Flipkart is aiming to more than double sales from the five-day event compared to last year.

It is also clear that Amazon India is also expected to hold its "Great Indian Sale" around the same time in September. This will be the biggest showdown in Indian e-commerce, which has effectively turned into a two-horse race between Flipkart and the American e-commerce giant.

The Big Billion Days would mostly be driven by key categories such as smartphones, large appliances and the newly launched furniture business, as well as fashion in which Flipkart is a market leader, including sales from its Myntra and Jabong units.

Apart from the usual to boost sales, Flipkart stated that for the first time the company will offer consumers the option to choose EMIs on debit cards across top banks in the country. The company in an official statement said that the Flipkart Sale – Big Billion Day will offer up to 90% off on products across all categories.

Apart from that there is instant discount of 10% with SBI bank debit & credit cards too. Further there is discount of 10% through Flipkart's PhonePe wallet.
